FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a Marine Board and what is it used for?
A Marine Board is a water-resistant, film-coated plywood board used primarily as formwork in construction, holding wet concrete in shape until it sets. It’s also used in heavy-duty furniture and structural applications. We stock 14mm, 18mm and 19mm Green PP Film-Faced Marine Boards in Lagos.
What is a Marine Board andWhat is the difference between 14mm, 18mm and 19mm Green PP Marine Board? what is it used for?
The 14mm is a blockboard core board for lighter formwork, expect 2–5 reuses. The 18mm is a solid 8-layer board for heavier construction with 7–10 reuses. The 19mm Green PP is our premium option with an 11-layer hardwood core and 20+ reuse cycles — ideal for high-rise construction, bridge work and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Do you supply Marine Boards in bulk?
Yes. We supply full pallet quantities to developers, contractors and procurement companies across Nigeria with competitive bulk pricing and nationwide delivery
What is HDF Board and how is it different from MDF?
HDF (High Density Fibreboard) is denser, harder and more durable than MDF. It holds screws better, takes edge banding cleanly and delivers a superior finish — making it the preferred choice for furniture production in Nigeria.
What colours does your HDF come in?
We stock Off White, Perfect White, Dark Grey, Wenge, Switch, Akala, Oak, Walnut, Teak and more, in both standard matte and ultra-premium high gloss finishes. Contact us for current colour availability.
What is the difference between Standard and High Gloss HDF?
Standard HDF has a smooth matte or embossed finish for everyday furniture. High Gloss HDF features a UV-cured mirror-quality surface, scratch, moisture and UV resistant, preferred for luxury kitchens, hotel furniture and premium interiors.
Which plywood thickness should I use?
5mm for lightweight backing and drawer bottoms. 10mm for shelving and mid-weight furniture. 15mm for heavy furniture, flooring, roofing and structural applications. Not sure? Contact us and we’ll advise you directly.
Is your plywood moisture-resistant?
Our Commercial Plywood uses MR (Moisture Resistant) adhesive for interior applications. For outdoor or highly humid environments, our Marine Boards with WBP waterproof adhesive are the better choice.
